Well, first I want to update you on my progress with
Resolution #2, working out. It's going fabulously. In fact, I'm on day 11 and I feel stronger already.....
very sore, but stronger. I'm eating well...not sleeping as much as I would like...but, for the most part, doing exactly what I hoped I would.
However, right now, I really want a cupcake.

OK, I know there are many, many mothers out there who have dealt with this dreaded issue:
going back to work.
If you've followed me for any time at all, you know about our financial
woes issues around here. We have been faithful to do all that we know to do, in order keep Mama home. Well, it looks like our backs are up against a wall. This might be the time I have to go to work outside the home. And Mama is struggling with it a
little lot....as I'm sure most women do when they face this.
Any words of encouragement out there?

I COMPLETELY FEEL YOU HERE HONEY!!!! I had to go back to work as well when my youngest was about 10 months old.......It's NOT always easy--but I think what got me through is thinking that millions of children every day go to daycare and they turn out just fine! Also, you can TOTALLY tell when they start school which ones have been in group/classroom settings, etc. and which ones have not. It really helped me become more organized as far as planning a menu so I wasn't rushed when we got home, etc. AND...see if you can talk to your employer about scheduling...for example, I work 6:30AM to 3:00 PM so that I can pick my kids up early and still cook dinner, etc. every night. Also, they let me have off 1 day per week over the summer so I can spend with the kids. Hope that helps.......thinking of you!
Oh friend...can I SO relate! I went into the full-time work force when Andrew (now almost 18) entered kindergarten.
Over the years I've often felt so many emotions as many (well meaning Christians) people were quick to point out:
1. your husband should be the provider and a Mom should stay at home and man the home front
2. your children will suffer because you are choosing to work to make more $
3. if this....
4. if that....
etc...etc.....etc...
The only words of advice I can provide are these:
1. you are a TEAM! At this time, if you need to work to HELP your family survive...than that's what you need to do.
2. DO NOT listen to those well meaning people who will make you feel guilty because you have to work.
3. BALANCE...BALANCE...BALANCE....as you enter the realm of being a working (outside of the home) Mom, set boundaries (before you go to work) so that others, the church, activities, do NOT crowd in our your family time. Speaking as a Mom who works, you will not treasure moments together MORE because they may seem limited now that you are working full-time.
4. Guard your heart (you may not feel this now...but it may crop up) from any anger because you are now needing to work. I'm talking about anger towards God, or your sweet husband.
I've now worked full-time for 13 years....and some days I get really down on myself because I can't do all the things that stay at home mom's do. BUT, I'm doing what needs to be done in order to help our family survive.
Just a few thoughts...to hopefully help you out!
I'll be praying for you MUCH!!
<3 ya girl. :-)
Keep praying and hopefully there will be a job that you will still be able to be with the children and make money. By the way, you have done a fantastic job with your children....
Cynthia
